JABULANI

Social network for South Africans and friends of South Africa living in Thailand

Jabulani Thailand

In 1992, a small group of South Africans founded Jabulani — a social organisation with a combination of old world charm and new world spirit. The purpose of Jabulani is to support and maintain a gateway for South Africans and friends of South Africa living in Thailand.

Because South Africa is such a “rainbow nation”, our group is open to all nationalities with a connection to or interest in South Africa and South Africans. It is with an open mind and heart that we can achieve true happiness.

Jabulani Membership is open to South Africans and friends of South Africa living in Thailand only. Membership fees are voluntary and are used to cover the administrative costs of running the organisation and its electronic platform. The Jabulani Committee members serve voluntarily and do not receive any remuneration whatsoever. We appreciate any financial support that allows us, in turn, to support you! Membership fee donations are THB 1,000 / USD 34 per person, per year.

Find out how to pay by reading this article in the forum. You can also email chief@jabulanithailand.org for more information.

Please remember, this is a social network for all things related to Jabulani. You can add photos, videos, create events, write articles (blogs), join and create groups and much more... Just remember that all content should be family friendly and must be of interest or related to Jabulani. If you have other content which you may want to share with Jabulani members, then keep it for your own Facebook page!

FEEDBACK FROM A FAN OF SOUTH AFRICA

Those of you who attended the SOUTH AFRICA BALL in September 2013 may remember that there was a lucky draw of 2 x return tickets to South Africa (courtesy of Qatar Airways).

And you may also remember that our lucky winner on the night was Irina Eddaira.

Well, Irina and her partner have recently returned from their trip to South Africa (first time) and sent us the attached photos and video.

They spent 2 days in Cape Town and stayed at the lovely HILDENBRAND WINE & OLIVE ESTATE (also part of their prize).  They went on to experience the unique ambience of several little towns and explore beautiful wineries in the area. Next they flew into Johannesburg for couple of days and enjoyed the warm hospitality of INSIDE STORY BED & BREAKFAST in Parkview (also part of their prize). They did the city tour which included a moving visit to the Apartheid Museum. Then it was on to an exciting safari trip at Kruger National Park where they were met by an angry elephant who seemed determined to flip their car over… But fortunately didn’t!

In Irina’s own words: “What a fascinating country South Africa is! Can't tell you enough how grateful I am for having an opportunity to have such great support during our trip. Our hosts in South Africa were amazing and we truly felt like we were visiting friends as opposed to being regular tourists”.

JABULANI would like to extend a VERY BIG THANK YOU to the sponsors of this prize:

And thank you to Irina for sharing her delightful South African experience with us.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE SOUTH AFRICA BALL

We  extend a BIG THANK YOU to our Jabulani members and all the friends of South Africa who attended the South Africa Ball in September 2013:

You generously opened your hearts and your wallets to benefit the beneficiaries of our Ball:
